A native of Miami, Florida Kathryn Gohlke began her career with the Miami Dade Fire Department in 1996, relocated to Tallahassee in 1998 and was hired as a firefighter with the Tallahassee Fire Department. Moved up the ranks from Firefighter/EMT to Engineer, Lieutenant and presently Staff Captain in the Fire Prevention Division. She has an AA degree in Fire Science from Colombia Southern University, Certified Arson Investigator and Fire Inspector.
Kathryn is a Staff Captain, Responsible for the Fire & Life Safety Inspections of all businesses within the city of Tallahassee and Leon County, Supervisor of 7 Inspectors and oversight of Fire Inspection program. Responsible for Fire & Arson investigations and documentation, Site Plan Reviewer for New Construction within the City of Tallahassee. Public Educator within the Fire Prevention division, speaking to groups to broaden their knowledge of fire safety.
In her spare time, she is a Beekeeper (and owner of an Apiary Supply store in Monticello) of 30+ colonies working hard to keep our earth thriving.
